Why was the Native American, Squanto, so valuable to the Pilgrims? He was one of the few Native Americans who knew English because his friends would visit England, he taught the pilgrims how to grow crops and sold the corn crop.

    I'd say it is because he knew English, because when I searched for it, it said that he would often translate for the pilgrims.
