    The speaker of this passage is King Nestor.

    Nestor was the king of Pylos. He was a very hospitable man. Telemachus and his crew arrived at Nestor's palace and they were looking for information about Telemachus' father. In this passage, Nestor in explaining to Telemachus how good his father was at war.
