    Greg Shapiro's poem "Tattoo" is about his Holocaust-surviving father. The poem is related in the time of World War II period the holocaust is against the Jewish people. It is a hard time for the Jewish people at that time of holocaust.

    The author used simile as a figurative language. Simile is a way to represent the resemblance of the objects using phrases, like as, so, than or like. The lines "Blue as blood", "Protection like acid" and - simile "I wear him like a cloak" are the relevant examples.
