A book with a mass of 1kg is on the floor. if the book is lifted from the floor to the top shelf which is 2 meters from the floor, how much work is done on the book?

    W = F * d

    Work = Force * Distance.

    F = mass * gravitational acceleration

    mass = m = 1 kg

    gravitational acceleration = 9.8 m/s^2

    d = 2 meters.

    F = 1 * 9.8

    F = 9.8 N

    Work = 9.8 N * 2 m

    Work = 19.6 Nm or 19.6 Joules
