What can readers infer from the following quote from Act V, Scene 3 of Romeo and Juliet? Romeo: O, be gone! By heaven, I love thee better than myself, For I come hither arm'd against myself. Stay not, be gone; --live, and hereafter say, A madman's mercy bid thee run away. A. Romeo plans to kill Paris. B. Romeo attempts to confuse Paris. C. Romeo tells Paris that he loves Juliet. D. Romeo does not plan to fight with Paris.

    I believe that what can be inferred from this quote is that D. Romeo does not plan to fight with Paris.

    He tells him to go away, because he will not fight him - he knows Paris is right, and that he should be in jail because he killed Juliet's cousin, however, he still does not want to fight and kill another man.
