A syllogism is a type of logical argument. It consists of three parts:

    1) Major Premise

    2) Minor Premise

    3) Conclusion

    Example (weak argument):

    All blondes are empty-headed

    S is a blonde

    Therefore S is empty-headed

    Example (strong argument):

    All unmarried men are bachelors

    S is an unmarried man

    Therefore S is a bachelor.

    Use in a sentence:

X's argument was unpersuasive as it was based on the use of faulty (or weak) syllogism
