Based on the story, what is the narrator's view of the Prussian soldiers compared to the French civilians and soldiers in the story?

    I think Max despised the Prussians soldiers for the destruction that they had brought upon. But his mind was changed when a friend of his had justified that soldiers shouldn't suffer just because their king and emperor could not come up with a better agreement.
