    The Crucible was a play written by Arthur Miller about the convergence of private crime with paranoia, hysterical behavior and religious intolerance.

    In his Salem of 1692 lived a theocracy with the legal system based on the Christian Bible in which moral laws are exactly the state laws. Individual's soul and his private life must follow the moral laws if you don't want represent a threat to the good ones. Every inhabitant of Salem is a potential witness of an individual's private crime. John Proctor is an wealthy and well known Puritan that owned many properties.

    When he met his beautiful servant Abigail, he's fighting within himself deciding its answers. Just when his wife discovered the fact he tried to recuperate the situation. Finally because of his lack of involvement in the witch trials of the city he was executed.
