The federal government is made up of the legislative, executive and judicial powers. Some of the duties and services that are their responsibility include:

    - Creating and enforcing the laws that the citizens must follow. This way, order and stability will be possible. Law-making processes are divided into the three branches, so that none of them has more influence.

    - Controlling the nation's economy. The federal government can print money, regulate its value, borrow it and create taxes to raise money for specific projects or to pay debts.

    - Representing the nation's interests through foreign policies and being responsible for the safety of its citizens. National defense is on the federal government's hands, but power is split between the Congress and the President, so that none has complete power over the army.
