    The correct answer for 1 is The moon is in orbit around the Earth.

    The moon has it's own orbit around the Earth and they together travel around the Sun on the Earth's orbit.

    The correct answer for 2 is A new moon is completely shadowed by the Earth.

    That is because the angle of the sun shining on the moon creates a new moon, as can be seen from Earth
