How did powerful people in Europe affect the settlement of the Carolinas and Georgia

The English established big plantations in the Carolinas and brought indentured servants, who were people brought from England and were promised land in the Americas if they worked in the colonies. The British brought an aristocratic rule and also the beginnings of racism were seen in The Carolinas.
