    D. Schooling is always taught formally by trained teachers, whereas apprenticeship can be taught informally by knowledgeable experts.

Students normally have a choice whether to learn through schools wherein they can be offered hands-on learning with their coursework or to have an apprenticeship wherein they will be exposed to a higher level of practical learning. Schools are more formal in a sense that it follows a specific course outline and the students may only have few opportunities to practice their skills in the field. However, with apprenticeship students are taught informally and they will have a thorough understanding of what the job entails as they will be fully immersed on the job every day.
