How would you categorize the following claim in an essay with the following thesis?

Thesis: Due to the excessive number of missed school days due to weather issues, some New

England communities are considering a policy to decrease summer vacations by two weeks to

gain more time in the classroom.

Claim: "After the long New England winter, students' minds begin to wander to the beach, and

they lose focus on academics the minute they see the first signs of summer.

    Answer: Counterclaim

    Explanation:

    I think this would be considered a counterclaim because the thesis is talking about how they would want to decrease the amount of summer students receive, and the claim states that because of the long winters students are very eager for summer as soon as they begin seeing signs of it. I'm not sure if I'm correct but this is what I would answer.
