The duke exercises his power, but the other speaker is powerless.

both the poem have been written by Robert Browning dealing with the theme of love, but totally in different aspects.

In the poem "My Last Duchess" Robert Browning tells about a Duke who killed his wife because he was obsessed with easy and free nature.

The poem "Life in a Love" highlights the poet’s intense love for his beloved. He very well understands that even if she disagrees to accept his love, he will keep her loving and will accept it as his fate.
