    Jerry tells Ponyboy that the jacket he was wearing is what saved his life and when Dally smacked his back is what saved the fire. That the condition was not that bad but it could of been worse if Dally wasn't there for him. He isn't certain about Johnny's condition because his back might be broke. In the waiting room Jerry said that they will get off better because of how they saved the kids.
