    Assonance is the repetition of the same vowel in neighboring words. If you take a look at the words above, you will see that the same vowel is repeated in three words, and those are boot, rooted, and cool.

    In the first and the second groups, the vowel is not the same in all three words, whereas in the third group, you can see that the vowel oo is repeated throughout.
