Barbara bought 12 cans of beans for $3. If Perry bought 7 cans, how much should he pay at the same rate?

    12 x 3 = 36 7x3 = 21

    Rate: 0.25 per can

    7 x 0.25 = 1.75

    So Perry should pay 1.75 for 7 cans.
