Winter arrives in Maycomb. Mr Avery said bad children or disobedient children cause the weather to change or bring bad weather. It is ironic because the children's initial reaction is fear and curiosity. Scout says, "jem and I were burdened with the guilt of contributing to the aberrations of nature, thereby causing unhappiness to our neighbors and discomfort to ourselves."
