You are making necklaces for your friends. You have 72 blue beads and 42 red beads. Each friend will receive an identical necklace, and all beads must be used.

(A) What is the greatest number of friends who can receive a necklace? Explain your reasoning.

(B) How many of each color bead will each friend receive on the necklace? Explain your reasoning.

    The largest common demoninator for both 72 and 42 is 6. So the the greatest number of friends that can recieve necklaces is (A) 6. Each necklace will contain 72/6=12 blue beads and 42/6=7 red beads so (B) is 12 blue beads and 7 red beads.
