The difference between the two is that, an argument sandwich is a more constructive form of gathering data and analysis compared to a data dump.

By definition an argument sandwich is a way of presenting an argument in three steps: the introduction, the evidence, and the analysis. As opposed to a data dump where all information is just transferred from one system to another without the need to filter the information.
