    The falling action in this story by Jack London occurs in the last few paragraphs, after the man already surrenders and knows he is going to die. Because he knows he is going to die in any case he decides to at least die with and behave with dignity. Falling action refers to the part of the story after the climax and the resolution of the main conflict.
