Which sentence is compound? A. The Hannons stopped at a store and bought five pounds of peanut brittle. B. They hadn't planned the trip, but they returned to the store the next day and bought more peanut brittle. C. They ate the peanut brittle on the car ride home. D.     You can test if there are two independent clauses by separating the clauses and seeing if they can stand alone.
