Can someone explain the difference between affect and effect?

    Affect refers to how someone's tone can affect you emotionally. And effect refers to cause and effect, what the outcome of something is.

    An easy way to remember it is that effect means noun and affect means verb

    For example: The speaker had an effect (noun) one me

    For example: The speaker affected (verb) me
