Read the article "Are We Still Living in 1984". Do you believe we are living in a society not unlike the one Winston lives in? Use at least one example from the article and one example from the novel to support your ideas.

    In the essay "Are We Still Living in 1984," the author discusses the similarities between our contemporary world the fictional "future" George Orwell presented in his 1948 novel 1984. One could argue that we are, indeed, living in a world not unlike the one presented in Orwell's novel. After all, we live in a world where we are often observed my electronic surveillance and in which dictators, such as Big Brother in Orwell's novel, still exist.
