    c. Iambic pentameter contains 10 syllables per line, while prose contains no limit on syllables per line.

Iambic pentameter is a structured line of verse. It has five feet of two syllables each. This gives the line 10 syllables total. Each foot contains an unstressed syllable then a stressed syllable. This foot is considered an iamb. Since it has 5 and the root word meaning five is penta, it is called iambic pentameter.

Prose is everyday writing. There are no rules for rhyming or syllables.
