The strange story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is accompanied by a case of metamorphosis midway through the story. Dr. Jekyll makes several arrangements for the benefit of his new self - Hyde. The new self Hyde is highly evil in nature. The understanding is that while goodness does not need too much fanfare, evil definitely needs a lot of preparation.

Therefore, Dr. Jekyll leaves no stone unturned in this effort. He arranges for a house, and then a housekeeper who can take care of all things around him, post his transformation. He also rewrites his will to suit the current status that he is caught in. Dr. Jekyll takes a lot of precautions and is measured in his approach. He plans and prepares as if he is a new precocious father.
