The purpose of a persuasive essay is to persuade, to convince. When you believe strongly about something, and want to convince others of your view, you can do it with a persuasive essay. But you must be completely sure of what you believe in. So, a persuasive essay must contain information, citations, quotes, experiences, or examples in order to persuade the audience that what you are saying is logically true.
