In Romeo and Juliet, what does it mean to bite your thumb at someone? I know it's very rude I'd just like to get more of a specific meaning of it!

For I am not a fan of Romeo and Juliet, I think the answer is like what a girl might do to turn on or tease a male. Or it could be meant as the second version of "I bite my tongue before I say something I'll regret"
