Rising action, climax, and falling action are all part of the plot. Setting describe where the story is taking place, such as in a house, or in the early 1900's. Conflict describes the struggles that happen between two things, such as the character and society, or between two different characters. Symbolism refers to the idea of an object or an event in the story meaning something greater. Finally, the current answer, plot, refers to the different parts of the story. The rising action is the start of the story, the climax is where everything happens, and the falling action is the resolution of all of the events.
