    Explanation:

    The family of the Youngers originates from an African American background. The family has been facing financial challenges. When the man of the house died, the family was able to receive 10,000 dollars as an inheritance. However, the family members had diverse ideas of what should happen with the money.

    There, however, decided to lay the money in the house of the white neighborhood, which was a bit cheaper. The remaining amount was given to their mum to started a small business of selling liquor.
