    The Present Perfect tense talks about an action that started in the past and continues to the present. In this case the prepositions "for" and "since" have to be used.

    Ex, I have worked here for 10 years (I started 10 years ago and still work here)

    I have worked here since 2005 (I started in 2005 and continue working here)
