My mom was optimistic that the camping trip would go well, but my dad was doubtful that we would have nice weather and enough supplies. Read the sentence. Based on the antonym context clue, what does the word optimistic mean?

    That means doubtful must be the antonym of optimistic, so optimistic must mean hopeful/sure about something in the future.
