One theme in The Crucible is faith and the breaking of it. What choices are made, and what actions are taken by the characters in the play that involve this theme of faith and betrayal? What message is Miller trying to send to his audience about this theme?

    In The Crucible, the idea of goodness is a major theme. Almost every character is concerned with the concept of goodness, because their religion teaches them that the most important thing in life is how they will be judged by God after they die.
