How does Bronte use the setting to further the story?

    Bronte, especially in chapter 23, uses elements such as the weather to create contrasts between what is happening in the world, I. e. summer blooms and warm weather, and what is happening to the characters lives, I. e. the cold distance that is created between Rochester and Jane upon the revelation of his prior marriage.
