The central argument that the essay "A Defense of Veganism" makes is option B. Many of the claims against vegans are untrue.

The author writes about a protest that was held by vegans outside a restaurant bearing a giant sign with the word "murder" in it. When the protest became viral vegans were called all sorts of names like "zombie-eyed" and "mean from hunger and envy". People who claim the importance of meat for human survival call the activists aggressive and mentally wrong. The writer then states that among vegans there are some fanatics and others who are not fanatic, they only believe in the importance of a plant-based diet, and militants or not, vegans are a minority in an omnivorous world.
