Which of these sentences is punctuated correctly? Although the concert doesn't start for over an hour; most of the fans have already arrived at the concert hall.     I believe it would be the last one, but using a semi colon both sentences can be independent. Imagine if you said one without the other, would it still make sense? If so you can use a semi colon. The author could've ended the sentence, but chose not to.

    Most of the fans have already arrived at the concert hall; however, the concert doesn't start for over an hour.
