On pages 40 and 41, why does Edward Hyde drink the potion to transform back into Henry Jekyll?

A His conscience gets the better of him, and he does not want to be Edward Hyde any longer.

B Dr. Lanyon threatens to kill him.

C He is hiding from the police because he is wanted for murder.

D He is afraid he might hurt Dr. Lanyon.
