American power, philosophically should root from the people but we can see in modern perspective that it isn't always the case. The surrender of rights creates a safe environment yes, but at the same time hinders our power as the people to dictate how government should be run. We see in the world in general how corruption and bad intentions of politicians can turn out to conflict which leads to the endless cycle of hate and disparity. Our freedoms may come at risk, but at what extent we are willing to give up that right, is up to the individual. American power prides itself in being original and separate from olden European sovereign nations, and the only way for the power of the people to shine is to exercise our rights under the law and conditions to recognize that we, the people are the ones who decide for the well being of the country.
