Which excerpt from the story "The Day I Got Lost" is an example of direct characterization? One evening I took a taxi because I was in a hurry to get home. "Perhaps you can tell me where they can be reached?" I said. He drove me to the nearest drugstore with a telephone booth in it, but he refused to wait. I carry an overstuffed briefcase, and I'm forever making mistakes.
