Jonathan was walking through the densest part of the woods, whistling his favorite tune, when a bandit jumped out from behind a tree. "Your money or your life," said the outlaw in a hoarse whisper, brandishing a sharp knife. Jonathan reached for his wallet with trembling fingers, wishing that his dog were alive to protect him. The bandit snatched the wallet with a wry chuckle and disappeared into the shrubbery. Jonathan stood motionless for a minute, and, as the shock of the event receded, he began wondering how his mother would react to the loss.
