Which line of dialogue best provides insight about a character's identity conflict?

A. "Seeing a little child's eyes light up after biting into one of my crispy churros, makes getting up early in the morning worth it," I said beaming with pride.

B. "Dragging myself out of bed at 4:00 a. m. is not my idea of the perfect job," I said. "I'm a night person, so I am not taking the job as a baker."

C. "I was out of work for a year," I explained, "so when this job as a baker's assistant came up, I took it, even though I hate getting up early in the morning."

D. "Me, I don't mind getting up early in the morning," I replied. "Al contrario, I leap out of bed before the crack of dawn, so being a baker is the life for me!"

The correct answer should be C. "I was out of work for a year," I explained, "so when this job as a baker's assistant came up, I took it, even though I hate getting up early in the morning."

An identity conflict has to do with one's wishes and one's inabilities to fulfill those wishes. So, this person wishes for a job where he doesn't have to wake up early - however, he took a job that required him to do so, even though it conflicted with his desires.
