    The Farquars learn that Gideon was the son of a great medicine man who is able to cure almost any disease.

    By the end of the story, the Farquars learnt that Gideon was the son of a medicine man who was famous among the natives. Also, they also learnt that the process Gideon undertook cured Teddy, not the root or any herb.
