In his essay, Nature, Ralph Waldo Emerson tries to solve the problem of people's appreciation of nature. He explains how people can achieve this appreciation through understanding and examining the nature. Nature is a spiritual search of human where the latter finds the divine in nature. The search is achieved through the constant interaction of humans with nature in a spiritual way.

Those thoughts presented in the essay popularized the transcendentalist movement which dealt with the non-traditional study of nature.
