    B. The green light at the end of Daisy's dock.

    Explanation:

    F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" tells the story of a man named Jay Gatsby and his attempts to rebuild his life and his love life with a now married Daisy Buchanan. Narrated by another character Nick Carraway, the plot revolves around the numerous characters and their take on the life of those in East and West egg.

The green light at the end of Daisy's dock, in the side of East Egg represents both the person Daisy and the green color of money that the people of east Egg represent. While the residents of West Egg are poorer than those of the wealthier East Egg residents, their differences is evident in their respective locations. The green light symbolizes the far reached objective that Gatsby wants to and desires to achieve. The theme of this 'green light' appears a lot in the course of the story, starting from Chapter 1.

Gatsby's zeal to get his former lover Daisy, which indirectly refers to his desire to be a part of the wealthy East Egg residents, also symbolizes the American dream, wealth and also his wish to reclaim his past happiness.
