Did you know? You had to pay Gold to battle multiplayer or friendly battles. This is in stark contrast to today, where you get gold for playing and there's even 'Gold Rush' events at the end of the month. This severely limited playing as it meant that you would have to spend your Gold on battles, rather than saving them for upgrades.
