The Title "Two Kinds refers to the statement by the mother that there are only two kinds of daughters: those who are obidient and those who follow their own mind! At the end of two Kinds, Jing-mei puts the title in a different light when she realizes that the titles "pleading Child" and "Perfectly Contended" are two halves of the same song.     The title two kinds is reffering to two types of daughters obidient and those who follow their mind the title pleading child is reffering to the child that follows his/her mind the title perfectly contended is reffering to the child that is obidient.
