A stream of consciousness is defined as a continuous stream of thoughts, uninterrupted by objectivity, and most often relayed in chronological order. The Jilting of Granny Weatherall is a classic example of the stream of consciousness, as we experience the thoughts and memories, which flow through her mind, as she dies.
