Describe the theme of "Annabel Lee." What devices does the poet use to emphasize this theme?

The theme that Edgar Allan Poe works in Annabel Lee is very common in his poems and short stories. There is nothing more romantic and poetic than the love of a man for his recent dead beloved person. It is very common that Poe highlights the love that was felt by Annabel Lee's loved one. This takes the reader into the first good sensations of the story, to feel a never-ending love through the characters of the story, "And this maiden she lived with no other thought than to love and be loved by me". Then, Edgar Allan Poe corrupts the good sensations of the story to give it a sadder tone, "A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling my beautiful Annabel Lee; so that her highborn kinsmen came and bore her away from me". He uses personification when mentioning that angels felt no so happy and envy for their love, giving a human feeling or state to the concept or idea of angels.
