2 has an action or predicate - ran to the store (a predicate)

3 Expresses a complete thought

Subordinate Clause:

It does not express a complete thought.

e. g Because he likes stories.

A clause becomes subordinate because of;

1: The presence of marker words (e. g Before, after, because, since, in order to, although, though, whenever, wherever, whether, while, even though, even if)

2: Conjunction (And, or, nor, but, yet)

Subordinate/dependent clause MUST be joined to another clause to make the meaning clear.
