king "tut" was buried with 36 jars of wine, fruit, and clothing, to look & travel his best while traveling to the afterlife.

Earthly life, these are objects in which he enjoyed in life, so were needed in the afterlife.

The afterlife, 4 Egyptians, means (in their minds), needed essential items to overcome (enemies that try to block his passage) to the afterlife.

I believe the Egyptians thought he would need the jewelry to pay 4 his passage through.

This was their religion, way of life, offering the gods items that wud appease them ...
